Although Mr. Ethan really only wanted to be in mom's arms the day of his first birthday cake smash, he did loosen up enough to get some great pictures. Which, isn't too hard to do when you're this cute! That bright blonde hair, blue eyes, and happy smile are just so adorable!

Little Broderick, aka Brody, arrived just one day past his due date, on June 2. He came to see me at 1 week old and rocked his session! While I was editing, I was playing around with black and white and I fell in love. I had forgotten just how powerful a good B&W image can be! Thankfully, mom and dad liked them too! Of course, some just look better in color, especially when the color is bright and bold, but now I need to try to remember to include a few B&W into every newborn session. Photographing 3 week old twins, Eva and Nora, was so fun! It was incredible to see how easily they snuggled up to one another and were perfectly content to be side by side. And, their big sister, Violet, is just the best! I can already tell the three of them will have so much fun growing up together. A sister is a best friend for life! Little Liam was in town for his aunt's wedding last weekend and I had the pleasure of being able to photograph him! At over 9lbs, he was pure chunky adorableness!! I typically do my newborn sessions when babies are 5-8 days old, but this little guy was a rock star and still let me pose him at 4 weeks old! Ah! I still can't get over how cute and sweet he is. Those rolls, man! They really need to make a support group for people addicted to photographing babies. I just can't get enough! <3 Even though his due date was in early May, this cutie pie just couldn't wait to be snuggled in his family's arms and decided to make his arrival on March 25, 2016. I'm so happy that I was given the opportunity to snuggle him as well, because he is just so sweet and adorable! And look at those big blue eyes! Here are some of mine and the mom's favorites from his session! Last week I had adorable Phoebe back into the studio for her 6 month session. (She's on my Watch Me Grow Plan) Phoebe has gotten so big since last time I saw her, but still just as cute! Although she wasn't really into me taking her picture, she was certainly a happy girl in mommy's arms!! And it all worked out because the images of them together in black and white are my favorite!! They are classic, timeless, and really show off the connection between mother and child. 2016 has truly been a year of boys, and I couldn't be happier! Every little boy I've photographed has been super adorable and most of them have been phenomenal sleepers, including this little one. Meet baby Shiv, 8 days old. He wins for the best head of hair and best lips!! He also wins for the funniest moment. Errrr, moments. See below- Each of my sessions start out with posed shots on the beanbag with usually 2 or 3 colors, then we move onto props, and end with family shots. Usually babies end up peeing or pooping at least once during the session, some much more. But, if they haven't gone by family shots, I forewarn the moms and dads that they are likely in the accident zone. Well, baby Shiv didn't want to prove me wrong, so he decide to leave mom a present, not once, not twice, but 3 times! And then again one more time on my rug while we were cleaning mom up. Each time it happened RIGHT after I got them both situated and stood up to take the picture. It was hysterical! So, instead of the one shot where mom, Ami, is laying on the ground with her hair out holding baby Shiv taking a couple of minutes, I think it took us well over a half an hour when all was said and done. But, as you will see, little Shiv TOTALLY made up for it by giving her smiles in the other pose. So, in the end, it was completely worth it!!!! Gosh, I love my job!! All bonnets, plus blue outfit and mohair wrap by The Tiny Blessings Boutique Beanbag backdrops by Fancy Fabric and Props Last week I had this cutie pie in the studio when he was only 6 days old. I remember when mom first booked back in December and how excited she was! Finally, after months of waiting, the day was finally here and I was so excited to meet them all. And baby Nolan did not disappoint. He was a rock star for his very first photo shoot! I don't think I've ever had a baby give me this many smiles or been so expressive in their sleep! Miss Gabriella's nursery is elephant themed, so I purchased this adorable hat and lovey set for her session and I'm in love with how adorable they look with her! Sooo cute, and purple is definitely her color! LOVE!!! Elephant set by No. 2 Willow Lane Purple mohair romper and matching headband by The Tiny Blessings Boutique Cream wrap by Manly and Pretty Little Things There is seriously nothing like holding your newborn baby in your arms for the first time. The feeling is so much more love than anyone could ever describe. I do this job not simply because I enjoy it, but because I want to give parents those memories every time they look at their newborn photos. I want them to remember that first hug, the way their newborn smelled, the way their baby fit so perfectly in their arms, and every tiny detail from their little lashes to their tiny toes. I hope every time mom and dad look at these pictures of baby Lydia throughout the years, that they are brought back to this special time and smile, heart full of wonderful memories. I am so excited to share with you some images from all the absolutely adorable and well-dressed kids I had in the studio last weekend for spring mini-sessions. I know the parents are anxiously awaiting their images, so I plan on getting galleries out tomorrow or Friday. But, for now, enjoy all the sneak peeks! Everyone was anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby Luke, especially since he was born 8 days past his due date, but he was DEFINITELY worth the wait! Look at his chubby cheeks, that hair, and those perfect little fingers and toes!!! Even though editing is not my favorite thing to do, I enjoyed every minute of looking at this sweet face again and again. He was by far my sleepiest baby yet and once he finally let me un-clench his fists, he was a dream to pose. I feel very lucky that he is on my Watch Me Grow Plan so I can see this cutie pie two more times in his first year- once he can sit independently and for his first birthday cake smash. I know I say it all the time, but I seriously have the best job in the world! I love watching these little ones grow up and I love that I am able to capture these special memories for the parents. She is definitely a mommy's girl and always takes a little while to warm up to me, but I don't mind because once she gives me that smile, it's golden! Plus, look at those adorable serious-face lips! No smiles needed for those! I am really excited to have her back again for her first birthday cake smash in July!! White mohair outfit and matching bow - The Tiny Blessings Boutique Cream pearl outfit - Cute As Can Be Props Flower basket - Fancy Fabrics & Props Purple Flower Crown - Cutie Couture Boutique Beautiful Keira was the perfect little model when she came to visit me at 7 days old. I feel so blessed that I will get to photograph her again when she is able to sit and for her first birthday since she is on my Watch Me Grow Plan! Mom and Dad did not find out what they were having beforehand, so we didn't have specific colors planned. Once I knew it was a girl, I had a vision with mint, peach, and cream, and thankfully Keira's mommy approved! I think I got Keira's approval too with all these adorable smiles she gave me! People always ask me if they need to bring anything for a session, and the answer is no. I have everything I need to make your session special. However, if you'd like to bring something of your own, maybe sentimental, just give me a head's up so I can figure out how to incorporate it ahead of time. People also frequently ask where I get some of my hats/headbands so they can purchase their own to keep, so I think I will start to list them with each session. White pearl headband, peach wrap and headband, and teddy hat from The Tiny Blessings Boutique, peach headband from Bonnetique, large peach flower/white headband from The Indy Cottage Prop Shop, and cream outfit from Cute as Can Be Props (look for the outfit again as it came as a set with a matching sitter outfit!). Last Saturday I was introduced to yet another wonderful family and their new addition, baby Elinor. I just love pink and white on little girls, so I was excited when mom chose those colors for this session. Baby Elinor was as sweet and adorable as they come, but for an 8 day old, she was also very opinionated and feisty! She was happy to sleep, but did not want to be disturbed in that process, so I had to be extra careful and slow when positioning her, and if she didn't like it, she let me know! Elinor also has a fabulous and adorable big sister and I know they are going to be great friends as they grow up! Times like this really make me believe in the 6 degrees of separation theory. Baby Micah's mom found out about me through her triplet sisters, who are Facebook friends with the teacher who worked in the classroom next to mine, and who they helped out, when I taught in Lancaster over 4 years ago. Did you follow that? Small world huh? Well in any case, I'm certainly glad she reached out because I just loved photographing this precious little dude (check out his adorable forehead wrinkles!!) and his fabulous parents! I also loved that we got to use my dark wood in his session! Little Jacob and his wonderful family came to visit me in the studio when he was 12 days old. As much as he loved being wrapped, I of course needed to get some unwrapped shots because he has the absolute hands-down best baby rolls ever! I just wanted to cuddle and squeeze him all day!! Baby Connor was the last newborn I had in the studio before this blizzard hit, so I'm a little late in posting since we were outside trying to shovel 30 inches of snow, plus try to spend some time with kids in the snow. Hopefully his parents won't be too upset with me once they see these! I mean, look at this cutie pie! I think he has the most perfect little button nose ever, and he even smiled for the camera during family shots! *swoon!!* Oh sweet, sweet Emily, how adorable you are! Emily is one of my Watch Me Grow babies so this is the second time I had her in the studio and both times she has just been full of smiles and personality. She just turned 6 months old, but has been sitting independently for weeks and is already up on all fours rocking back and forth. She is one determined little lady and wants so badly to join in all the fun with her big siblings, Lillian and Owen. I'm sure by her 1 year session she will be running circles around me! Last weekend I got some more baby snuggles in with this little guy, baby Ryder. He was so tiny, such a great sleeper, and super adorable. I didn't want him to leave! Mom and Dad share my love of neutrals, so I was happy to use them throughout his session. But, we did make sure to put some blue in there! He really was a rock star for his first photo shoot, and narrowing down the choices of what pictures to include in his gallery has been nearly impossible. |
