"Kristen has photographed both of my children as newborns and their cake smashes. Her work is amazing! She does beautiful work and takes the time to personalize each session to you. She’s so easy to work with. We get compliments all the time when people see our children’s pictures. I would highly recommend her!" - Krysti U.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book my baby's session?
Baby sessions can take place when your child is anywhere from 3-12 months, with the best times being when baby has reached new milestones such as mastering tummy time, sitting independently, and getting ready to celebrate their first birthday. Please contact me 1-3 months ahead of time. I can occasionally accommodate a last minute session, but typically I book up at least a month in advance.
How long will the session last?
A Simple Studio baby session will last up to 30 minutes and include a few simple sets-ups that really focuses on your baby! Various poses are included such as on their back, on their tummy, and in a prop.
When will my session take place?
There are so many wonderful times to capture babies as they grow through their first year. Once they master tummy time, sit independently, and when they celebrate their first birthday are just some of my favorites! Sessions should be scheduled when your baby is happiest! That means, after a good night's sleep or nap and a good feed. Typically most parents schedule these sessions after baby's morning nap, usually around 11am-1pm. However, they can be scheduled anytime during business hours.
What should my baby wear?
LBP has a large variety of outfits here that fit babies 6-18 months to make the experience stress free - most of the outfits seen in the pictures above are from the studio collection. However, if you choose to bring your own outfit please choose one that fits the theme and colors. My favorite shops to choose outfits from are Mia Joy Studio, Cora and Violet, Indigo and Lace, Threads & Evergreen, Pretty Pink Ruffles, Fox & Heron, and of course Gap Kids and Janie & Jack if you need something in store and quickly.
How much does a session cost?
The session fee is $100 and prints and products are sold separately at the Viewing & Ordering appointment. Clients receive the complimentary matching digital files for anything they order in any print (aka hard copy) form. There are 6 collections that range from $990-3190, plus an la la carte list, and clients typically invest $1800+ at the Viewing & Ordering appointment on their wall art, albums or collection boxes. For more information, please visit the Investment & Art page.
What will happen after the session?
After your portrait session, I will start working on preparing your gallery and 3-10 days later, we will have your Viewing & Ordering Appointment. This is when you will get to see all your beautiful images, choose your favorites, and decide how you would like to proudly display them in your home!
Do you have any options for clients who aren't interested in printed products or have a lower budget?
I feel very passionately about helping clients to have tangible, long-lasting, high-quality, heirloom prints and products that they can enjoy now and that can get passed down through generations rather than images just living on a computer or cloud somewhere. However, I do offer sessions for clients who have no interest in printed work. These are my SIMPLICITY SESSIONS. For these, there is a $450 all-inclusive fee, meaning that cost covers the ~15-20 minute session and 10 digital images of your choice. Additional digital images can be purchased at $50/ea. One white/cream/natural wood/greenery set-up will be set-up at photographer's discretion and babies have access to studio wardrobe. Images will be chosen immediately after the session (allow approximately 30-45 minutes for this). Clients can add parent poses for $150 with 3 extra digital images, add a sibling pose for $150 with 2 extra digital images, and/or a full family (nuclear, not extended family) pose for $150 with 2 extra digital images.
