"Kristen was awesome to work with - all the way from fitting us into a tight schedule to providing our pictures! She was great with both my 4 year old and 4 month old and got some of the best smiles. We love our pictures and look forward to working with Kristen again!" - Julianne B.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book my child's session?
Children can be photographed at ANY age, but secretly (shhhhh) ages 3-7 are my favorite. They have so much personality, generally can take at least a little bit of direction, and still find me pretty funny. Please contact me 1-2 months in advance of when you would like your session. I can occasionally accommodate a last minute session, but not always.
Can we take pictures in a flower field?
I offer limited edition sessions in the sunflower and lavender fields (yearly as long as the crops grow). These are VERY limited because the crops have a short, peak bloom period. Lavender sessions are at the end of June/early July and sunflowers usually range from early August-late September depending on when the seeds are planted. I also offer Cherry Blossom sessions in late April when the tree in my front yard blooms. All immediate family members are welcome to join in for these. I HIGHLY recommend signing up for my newsletter as these sessions are released to past clients first, then newsletter subscribers, and finally the general public.
How long will the session last?
Simple "Studio" sessions last up to 30 minutes (indoors or out). Sometimes older kids are open to being posed, but it's always best to let your child just be!
What should my child wear?
I have a large variety of outfits here that fit children 12mo-size 6 to make the experience stress free. However, if you choose to bring your own outfit please choose one that is comfortable, classic, and fits the theme and colors (if applicable). My favorite shops to choose outfits from are The Paper Doll, Trish Scully, Cora and Violet, Pretty Pink Ruffles, and of course Gap Kids, Janie & Jack, & J. Crew if you need something in store and quickly.
How much does a session cost?
The session fee is $100 and prints and products are sold separately at the Viewing & Ordering appointment. Clients receive the complimentary matching digital files for anything they order in any print (aka hard copy) form. There are 6 collections that range from $990-3190, plus an la la carte list, and clients typically invest $1000+ at the Viewing & Ordering appointment on their wall art, albums or collection boxes. For more information, please visit the Investment & Art page.
What will happen after the session?
After your portrait session, I will start working on preparing your gallery and 3-10 days later, we will have your Viewing & Ordering Appointment. This is when you will get to see all your beautiful images, choose your favorites, and decide how you would like to proudly display them in your home!
How much do limited edition sessions cost?
Typically these are $200 (indoor) - $350 (outdoor) and will include 3-5 digital images of your choice. Outdoor editing is more extensive than a studio session due to enhancement of the fields and colors.
