In 2016, one of my resolutions is to take more quality pictures of my own children, not just iPhone photos. The other is to get a fabulous wall display for those pictures, which I can update as the years go on. One advantage of being a professional photographer is that I can order from certain places that the general public can't, and this year I cannot wait to get the display I've always dreamed of! Normally my studio is off limits to my kids because I don't want them ruining anything, but yesterday evening as I was getting ready to clean up from sweet Emily's 6 month sitter session, Lila, my 16 month old, wandered into the studio. She decided to plop herself right down in the bucket I had out and I thought to myself, "Okay, here's my chance to sneak in a couple of quick pictures." Because she is such a peanut, I put her in the same outfit that I had had the 6 month old in and started snapping away. The result is something I am incredibly surprised, excited, and overjoyed with! I think little miss Lila let me take pictures for a good half an hour and gave me such great expressions that truly capture her personality. She is growing up SO fast, and these pictures helped me to freeze time and remember her like this forever! From the tiny toes, to the curly hair in the back, from the chipped tooth and innocent smile, to the hazel eyes with long gorgeous lashes, she will forever be my baby.

Oh my goodness, isn't little Eden just simply adorable?! She came to the studio in Kennett Square last weekend to celebrate her first birthday with a cake smash. Mom did Baby-Led-Weaning with her, something I followed with my own daughter, so Eden knew what to do with that cake right away! Mmmmm, icing! She may have been super serious about her eating, but other than that, she was all full of smiles and personality! Last weekend I had this little sweetheart in my studio. Lily is 4 months old and such a girly-girl already. Mom brought a bunch of adorable outfits for her and I made sure we used them all, including her mermaid outfit! 4 months can sometimes be a tough age because babies can't sit by themselves yet and have found their hands, which are always in their mouth. That's why I overshoot at these sessions to ensure that we get plenty of great shots for the gallery. Check out Lily's adorableness below! Isn't miss Olivia just the cutest?! I was so happy to have her and her mom come to my studio to take some pictures for them. Olivia was such a sweetheart and definitely a mommy's girl. On Monday I had little Emily to my studio for her (almost!) 4 month old milestone session, the age of finding hands and tummy time mini push-ups. She was nice enough to bring her older siblings and mom along too! Being the third child, mom wanted to do something special just for her, so Emily is now on my Watch Me Grow plan. She didn't make the newborn session, so we modified it. Emily is such an adorable chunk! She was already trying to get herself into the sitting position when I had her on her back, a clear indication that she ready to keep up with her older sister and brother! I was so happy to have Bradley and his parents come to my studio from West Chester on Saturday for his newborn session. His parents had a lot of ideas/props from home they wanted to incorporate - Phillies baseball, Eagles football, Flyers ice hockey, and Coca-Cola. Thankfully this little cutie cooperated and we were able to get it all in, plus extras! Maybe Bradley will be just the thing the Eagles need to finally win a Super Bowl. They only have to wait a few years! ;) Are you ready for some first birthday cuteness? Check out adorable Christian and his cake smash! I seriously can not get enough of him!! Although he wasn't really into the actual cake, he was definitely into the icing, the bath, and the music! So much fun!! I am so excited to share this session with you! I have known this little one's mom since high school and couldn't wait for him to be born. Mom and Dad did not find out what they were having ahead of time, so he was a surprise to everyone, especially when he came 2 weeks early! In fact, his mom's water broke shortly after she left my house from a visit! Look at this handsome baby boy! Eek! I'm in love with him and this session. He is one lucky little guy, with great parents and the best big sister, Lyla. I really enjoyed being able to take some family pictures outdoors along with our indoor posed shots, so refreshing. "And though she be but little, she is fierce." Such a great quote to describe little Katelyn. Despite arriving a month early and being less than 6 pounds when I met her at 10 days old, she was perfect and strong! And, she will definitely have to be fierce to keep up with her older brother and sister! I really love photographing newborns, there's just something special about their newness and little features that I can't get enough of! Plus, it's a great way to get my baby snuggles in for a few hours! Here are some of my favorites from this family's session. Little Miss Lila is 100% Mommy's sweetheart and love bug. She is also 100% princess! This pink, heart themed first birthday cake smash was just perfect for her! With babies, you never know how they are going to react when given a cake for the first time. Will they eat it? Will they even touch it? Well, within the first 30 seconds, this little princess let me know she was going to devour this deliciousness! Happy first birthday, Lila! If you would like to book a cake smash session for your child, contact me today so we can start planning the fun! How precious and beautiful is baby Nora?! She was such a good baby and the perfect little model! Even though she was awake for the first half of our session, she didn't cry once. Big brother Lucas was really reluctant to be photographed, but his parents worked their magic and we got him to sit still for a few poses. Although older than the "typical" newborn age, baby Nathan was a dream to photograph! He slept in the car ride from Downingtown to my home studio in Kennett Square, so when he arrived, he was wide awake. We did a few swaddle shots, but he was a bit squirmy, so we moved on to family portraits. He was so content in mom's arms and fell right asleep! After a feeding he was only awake again for a short time and then was in a deep sleep perfect for some shots in the basket! Isn't he adorable?! Of course he gets it from his mom and dad. Such a gorgeous family!
I love being able to take portraits not only in the studio but then heading right outside to get some greenery in too! This is baby Lila, 9 months old.
Little Liam is the first baby, other than my own, that I was able to take pictures of. I'm so happy to have had this opportunity and was honored that his mom, a friend I went to college with, liked the portraits of my own kids on Facebook that she asked me to take some of Liam. He had had a rough night, so he was a tough one to get a smile out of. But, we were still able to get these adorable shots and he finally started to crack a smile at the end of our session!
