This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing another lovely family. I had talked with the mother, Betsy, a couple months prior and discussed setting up a time for a family session but she was a bit busy prepping for her younger sister's beautiful wedding. Once she had a plan, we settled on a late October session, after the wedding, and it turned out to be the perfect time! The colors are gorgeous now and it was still warm enough out not to worry about too many layers. We met at a nearby park where, as you can see, the beautiful colors just reflected off the water and it made for some great pictures. The morning light was so soft and warm also. Little Evelyn and Vivian, and of course their parents, were so great and fun to work with! Evelyn, being 2 (almost 3!), certainly kept me on my toes! And poor Vivian was just getting her first teeth in, so she didn't want to be away from mom. (You can read all about it on mom's fun-to-read blog: How to Succeed In Parenting Without Really Trying). But, because it's my job, we still managed some awesome family photos!

There's a reason why it's called the golden hour, just look at this gorgeous sun! I love shooting in the mornings when the sun is just coming up or in the evenings when it is just going down. No harsh shadows, just beautiful golden light. Add in 3 adorable boys and their fabulous parents, and it makes for one perfect photo shoot! Jamie and Sean may have their hands full with 3 energetic, yet sweet and adorable boys, but they were great during our session and so much fun! I'm sure these will be portraits their family will treasure for years to come. Despite Saturday being cold, this family warmed my heart. Little Nora, who I photographed as a newborn, and her older brother are simply sweet and adorable! I visited them in their neck of the woods at Krupp Park. There was a little creek, a bridge, and some walking paths, just enough perfect spots to get in some perfect fall family portraits! Poor Miss Mackenzie woke up sick the morning of our photo shoot, but she and mom were only in town for a few days so we carried on and she was a trooper, even through set-up and outfit changes! Check out her great expressions and fabulous hairdo! I have known Mackenzie's mom, uncle, and grandparents since I was born. They lived down the street from me when I was young and we still get together every once in awhile. It has been fun watching our babies, which are around the same age, growing up. Unfortunately Mackenzie and her mom now live in North Carolina so we don't get to see them very often, but it's nice when they come for visits. Happy first birthday cutie pie! I hope your day is as special as you are!! I am the biggest sucker for newborns. If I had one to shoot every day, I would be tickled pink! I was so happy when Ruby's mom contacted me for a newborn session, and even though it was last minute, I made sure I had time and I'm glad I did! Isn't she just absolutely beautiful?! On Monday I had little Emily to my studio for her (almost!) 4 month old milestone session, the age of finding hands and tummy time mini push-ups. She was nice enough to bring her older siblings and mom along too! Being the third child, mom wanted to do something special just for her, so Emily is now on my Watch Me Grow plan. She didn't make the newborn session, so we modified it. Emily is such an adorable chunk! She was already trying to get herself into the sitting position when I had her on her back, a clear indication that she ready to keep up with her older sister and brother! After Saturday's wonderful time at Longwood, I was twice blessed with another fabulous family and session there again on Sunday. This time, with 2 year old Carter and his parents. I have been wanting to take pictures in the field there for a while and was so happy when they were up for it. The colors they wore coordinated so well and the morning sun was just at the right spot. Little Carter is absolutely adorable. He may not have liked the camera, but I still managed to get some looks and smiles! And, the truck book I brought plus the blue lollipop mom had were just what he needed! Gotta be prepared with kids! Longwood Gardens is one of my favorite places to take pictures at. It is simply gorgeous. Add in a sweet and beautiful family of 4, and it's that much better! Mom really wanted to make sure I captured genuine smiles out of her kids, and I think I delivered. Laila and Zain have such great personalities that it was easy! Last Sunday I had the pleasure of being invited to the home of a wonderful family for a photo session. Mom, Melissa, had contacted me because her maiden name is Bloom and she thought it would be nice to have photos with Little Blooms! When I arrived, I could immediately tell that they were a very kind, casual family who just happens to love Halloween. Their house was already fully decorated inside and out! We talked, got silly, and I took some wonderful images just in their gorgeous yard. Here are some of my favorites: I was so happy to have Bradley and his parents come to my studio from West Chester on Saturday for his newborn session. His parents had a lot of ideas/props from home they wanted to incorporate - Phillies baseball, Eagles football, Flyers ice hockey, and Coca-Cola. Thankfully this little cutie cooperated and we were able to get it all in, plus extras! Maybe Bradley will be just the thing the Eagles need to finally win a Super Bowl. They only have to wait a few years! ;) |
