Longwood Gardens is one of my favorite places to take pictures at. It is simply gorgeous. Add in a sweet and beautiful family of 4, and it's that much better! Mom really wanted to make sure I captured genuine smiles out of her kids, and I think I delivered. Laila and Zain have such great personalities that it was easy!

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of being invited to the home of a wonderful family for a photo session. Mom, Melissa, had contacted me because her maiden name is Bloom and she thought it would be nice to have photos with Little Blooms! When I arrived, I could immediately tell that they were a very kind, casual family who just happens to love Halloween. Their house was already fully decorated inside and out! We talked, got silly, and I took some wonderful images just in their gorgeous yard. Here are some of my favorites: I can't believe this little guy is going to be one already! He was so happy and a natural in front of the camera! His mom and dad brought him to a nearby park for these pictures and we found the perfect spots. Too bad a big dog also liked the walking path where we were and tried to hang out for a while. I should have gotten some pictures for funny outtakes, but I just couldn't take my eyes and camera off this cutie! Look at this handsome baby boy! Eek! I'm in love with him and this session. He is one lucky little guy, with great parents and the best big sister, Lyla. I really enjoyed being able to take some family pictures outdoors along with our indoor posed shots, so refreshing. Blake isn't always very willing to get in front of the camera. In fact, he usually just runs away. But, thankfully all I had to do was tell him we were going outside to "play" and he could have a lollipop, and he sat still long enough to let me take his picture. I loved every minute of it! He has the most stunning blue eyes, which really sparkle in the sun. These are some pictures I took in our backyard on the 4th of July. It's no Longwood Gardens, but it's great for outdoor pictures with its ivy, archways, stone walls, and plethora of greenery. On Sunday I had the absolute pleasure to walk around Longwood Gardens with Leah and her two daughters, Amelia and Nezzie. Amelia, at only 10 years old, is such a beautiful, intelligent, creative girl, wise beyond her years. She was also an easy, cooperative subject to photograph! Plus, her little sister, Nezzie is just one of the cutest baby girls with her big, dark eyes! She stayed awake the whole time we were there and didn't cry once! Leah was hesitant to be in the pictures, but I'm so glad I was able to talk her into it! It's incredibly important for moms and dads to be in the portraits with their children because it's a treasure for them to look back at the photographs and remember their parents - they won't see wrinkles, blemishes, or the baby weight you can't seem to lose, just love and memories.
I love being able to take portraits not only in the studio but then heading right outside to get some greenery in too! This is baby Lila, 9 months old.
