Did you know that Nathan was my very first newborn client a year ago? I just can't believe how fast time has gone, and I know his parents can't either! This little cutie has gotten so big and even more adorable, if that's even possible! He is such a happy baby, and definitely loved his cake (made from scratch by mom and perfectly matched the set-up)! Nathan has gone down in my record book as best cake smasher ever, and I'm not sure if anyone can top this - just look at that mess! I LOVE it!

Although Mr. Ethan really only wanted to be in mom's arms the day of his first birthday cake smash, he did loosen up enough to get some great pictures. Which, isn't too hard to do when you're this cute! That bright blonde hair, blue eyes, and happy smile are just so adorable! I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet family at a new (for me) outdoor location in Glenmoore, PA yesterday evening. The weathermen couldn't make up their mind, first it was 40% chance of rain, then 0%, then 70%, then back to zero, so I was a bit worried we would get there and it would start raining, but boy am I glad that was not the case! Their little girl, Delaney, has the absolute best head of red hair and is beyond adorable! I would be happy to take this wonderful family's photographs any day and I will definitely be returning back to this location. Red barn doors, stone walls, tree lined paths, and goats - yes please! Last week I had adorable Phoebe back into the studio for her 6 month session. (She's on my Watch Me Grow Plan) Phoebe has gotten so big since last time I saw her, but still just as cute! Although she wasn't really into me taking her picture, she was certainly a happy girl in mommy's arms!! And it all worked out because the images of them together in black and white are my favorite!! They are classic, timeless, and really show off the connection between mother and child. I am so excited to share with you some images from all the absolutely adorable and well-dressed kids I had in the studio last weekend for spring mini-sessions. I know the parents are anxiously awaiting their images, so I plan on getting galleries out tomorrow or Friday. But, for now, enjoy all the sneak peeks! It was so nice to have little miss Lily back in the studio this weekend for her sitter milestone session. She is definitely a mommy's girl and always takes a little while to warm up to me, but I don't mind because once she gives me that smile, it's golden! Plus, look at those adorable serious-face lips! No smiles needed for those! I am really excited to have her back again for her first birthday cake smash in July!! White mohair outfit and matching bow - The Tiny Blessings Boutique Cream pearl outfit - Cute As Can Be Props Flower basket - Fancy Fabrics & Props Purple Flower Crown - Cutie Couture Boutique Oh sweet, sweet Emily, how adorable you are! Emily is one of my Watch Me Grow babies so this is the second time I had her in the studio and both times she has just been full of smiles and personality. She just turned 6 months old, but has been sitting independently for weeks and is already up on all fours rocking back and forth. She is one determined little lady and wants so badly to join in all the fun with her big siblings, Lillian and Owen. I'm sure by her 1 year session she will be running circles around me! Oh my goodness, isn't little Eden just simply adorable?! She came to the studio in Kennett Square last weekend to celebrate her first birthday with a cake smash. Mom did Baby-Led-Weaning with her, something I followed with my own daughter, so Eden knew what to do with that cake right away! Mmmmm, icing! She may have been super serious about her eating, but other than that, she was all full of smiles and personality! Last weekend I traveled to Collegeville for this little lady's first birthday party. Mom had picked out 2 adorable outfits for her to wear and had a beautiful dessert table on display. The decorations and cake even coordinated with Marin's outfits. While I was there, I was able to photograph Marin with her relatives and was a first hand witness to the love that surrounds her and the entire family. It made me wish I had hired someone else to take pictures at my own kids' parties! Last weekend I had this little sweetheart in my studio. Lily is 4 months old and such a girly-girl already. Mom brought a bunch of adorable outfits for her and I made sure we used them all, including her mermaid outfit! 4 months can sometimes be a tough age because babies can't sit by themselves yet and have found their hands, which are always in their mouth. That's why I overshoot at these sessions to ensure that we get plenty of great shots for the gallery. Check out Lily's adorableness below! Last Sunday I had the pleasure of walking around Longwood Gardens and photographing yet another lovely family. The two little boys, Connor and Evan, are adorable and look at their fabulous outfits! Mom sure knows how to coordinate clothes!! I love these colors! Connor definitely kept me on my toes and loved climbing and playing hide and seek in the trees. Isn't miss Olivia just the cutest?! I was so happy to have her and her mom come to my studio to take some pictures for them. Olivia was such a sweetheart and definitely a mommy's girl. This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing another lovely family. I had talked with the mother, Betsy, a couple months prior and discussed setting up a time for a family session but she was a bit busy prepping for her younger sister's beautiful wedding. Once she had a plan, we settled on a late October session, after the wedding, and it turned out to be the perfect time! The colors are gorgeous now and it was still warm enough out not to worry about too many layers. We met at a nearby park where, as you can see, the beautiful colors just reflected off the water and it made for some great pictures. The morning light was so soft and warm also. Little Evelyn and Vivian, and of course their parents, were so great and fun to work with! Evelyn, being 2 (almost 3!), certainly kept me on my toes! And poor Vivian was just getting her first teeth in, so she didn't want to be away from mom. (You can read all about it on mom's fun-to-read blog: How to Succeed In Parenting Without Really Trying). But, because it's my job, we still managed some awesome family photos! There's a reason why it's called the golden hour, just look at this gorgeous sun! I love shooting in the mornings when the sun is just coming up or in the evenings when it is just going down. No harsh shadows, just beautiful golden light. Add in 3 adorable boys and their fabulous parents, and it makes for one perfect photo shoot! Jamie and Sean may have their hands full with 3 energetic, yet sweet and adorable boys, but they were great during our session and so much fun! I'm sure these will be portraits their family will treasure for years to come. Poor Miss Mackenzie woke up sick the morning of our photo shoot, but she and mom were only in town for a few days so we carried on and she was a trooper, even through set-up and outfit changes! Check out her great expressions and fabulous hairdo! I have known Mackenzie's mom, uncle, and grandparents since I was born. They lived down the street from me when I was young and we still get together every once in awhile. It has been fun watching our babies, which are around the same age, growing up. Unfortunately Mackenzie and her mom now live in North Carolina so we don't get to see them very often, but it's nice when they come for visits. Happy first birthday cutie pie! I hope your day is as special as you are!! On Monday I had little Emily to my studio for her (almost!) 4 month old milestone session, the age of finding hands and tummy time mini push-ups. She was nice enough to bring her older siblings and mom along too! Being the third child, mom wanted to do something special just for her, so Emily is now on my Watch Me Grow plan. She didn't make the newborn session, so we modified it. Emily is such an adorable chunk! She was already trying to get herself into the sitting position when I had her on her back, a clear indication that she ready to keep up with her older sister and brother! Are you ready for some first birthday cuteness? Check out adorable Christian and his cake smash! I seriously can not get enough of him!! Although he wasn't really into the actual cake, he was definitely into the icing, the bath, and the music! So much fun!! I can't believe this little guy is going to be one already! He was so happy and a natural in front of the camera! His mom and dad brought him to a nearby park for these pictures and we found the perfect spots. Too bad a big dog also liked the walking path where we were and tried to hang out for a while. I should have gotten some pictures for funny outtakes, but I just couldn't take my eyes and camera off this cutie! Little Miss Lila is 100% Mommy's sweetheart and love bug. She is also 100% princess! This pink, heart themed first birthday cake smash was just perfect for her! With babies, you never know how they are going to react when given a cake for the first time. Will they eat it? Will they even touch it? Well, within the first 30 seconds, this little princess let me know she was going to devour this deliciousness! Happy first birthday, Lila! If you would like to book a cake smash session for your child, contact me today so we can start planning the fun! I love being able to take portraits not only in the studio but then heading right outside to get some greenery in too! This is baby Lila, 9 months old.
