It was so nice to have little miss Lily back in the studio this weekend for her sitter milestone session. She is definitely a mommy's girl and always takes a little while to warm up to me, but I don't mind because once she gives me that smile, it's golden! Plus, look at those adorable serious-face lips! No smiles needed for those! I am really excited to have her back again for her first birthday cake smash in July!! I was honored when this little guy's mommy contacted me to do his newborn session. Both of our oldest boys are in the same preschool class together, so of course I was more than happy to snuggle the newest member of the family! I came to their home on Sunday morning when baby Nolan was 4 days old, and he was a dream! He is going to have so much fun growing up with his 2 older brothers, Louie and Ryder. Blue mohair wrap, white pants, and teddy bear hat - The Tiny Blessings Boutique Tan sleepy hat - Props by Jeana Stretch wraps - Custom Photo Props Beautiful Keira was the perfect little model when she came to visit me at 7 days old. I feel so blessed that I will get to photograph her again when she is able to sit and for her first birthday since she is on my Watch Me Grow Plan! Mom and Dad did not find out what they were having beforehand, so we didn't have specific colors planned. Once I knew it was a girl, I had a vision with mint, peach, and cream, and thankfully Keira's mommy approved! I think I got Keira's approval too with all these adorable smiles she gave me! People always ask me if they need to bring anything for a session, and the answer is no. I have everything I need to make your session special. However, if you'd like to bring something of your own, maybe sentimental, just give me a head's up so I can figure out how to incorporate it ahead of time. People also frequently ask where I get some of my hats/headbands so they can purchase their own to keep, so I think I will start to list them with each session. White pearl headband, peach wrap and headband, and teddy hat from The Tiny Blessings Boutique, peach headband from Bonnetique, large peach flower/white headband from The Indy Cottage Prop Shop, and cream outfit from Cute as Can Be Props (look for the outfit again as it came as a set with a matching sitter outfit!). Last Saturday I was introduced to yet another wonderful family and their new addition, baby Elinor. I just love pink and white on little girls, so I was excited when mom chose those colors for this session. Baby Elinor was as sweet and adorable as they come, but for an 8 day old, she was also very opinionated and feisty! She was happy to sleep, but did not want to be disturbed in that process, so I had to be extra careful and slow when positioning her, and if she didn't like it, she let me know! Elinor also has a fabulous and adorable big sister and I know they are going to be great friends as they grow up! Two weekends ago, on Valentine's Day, I had the pleasure of meeting this little peanut, baby Penelope at 11 days old, along with her wonderful parents. She was born 4 weeks early and was a mere 4.5/5lbs when I saw her. But, look at how she just fits in mom and dad's arms so perfectly! I always say that newborn photography is so important because you will want to remember all those tiny details and babies grow so unbelievably quickly that they will never fit in your arms quite the same as they do within the first couple of weeks. Capture those memories!! I'm so pleased to announce that I am offering spring/Easter mini-sessions this year on March 12th from 9:30am-5pm!
Sessions will take place in 20 minute increments at my home-studio in Kennett Square, PA. There will be 2 backdrops for the photographs and children must be at least 4 months old. Single children are welcome up to any age, but due to backdrop and studio size, sibling pictures are only available for ages 6 and under. After the session, you will receive a link to an online gallery of 10 digital proofs. From those you will choose your top 4 to receive via online download with a print release. If you would like to purchase additional images from your gallery, they are $30/each or you may buy the rest of your gallery for $100. If you would like to purchase prints of your images, I will be offering them at 15% off my current print prices. There is a $40 non-refundable deposit to reserve your spot. You will be sent a PayPal invoice that must be paid within 24 hours or your spot will be re-opened. Cash or check are also accepted, but must be delivered to my address within 24 hours. To book your spot, please visit: www.littlebloomsphotography.com/spring-mini-bookings.html Times like this really make me believe in the 6 degrees of separation theory. Baby Micah's mom found out about me through her triplet sisters, who are Facebook friends with the teacher who worked in the classroom next to mine, and who they helped out, when I taught in Lancaster over 4 years ago. Did you follow that? Small world huh? Well in any case, I'm certainly glad she reached out because I just loved photographing this precious little dude (check out his adorable forehead wrinkles!!) and his fabulous parents! I also loved that we got to use my dark wood in his session! Little Jacob and his wonderful family came to visit me in the studio when he was 12 days old. As much as he loved being wrapped, I of course needed to get some unwrapped shots because he has the absolute hands-down best baby rolls ever! I just wanted to cuddle and squeeze him all day!! Baby Connor was the last newborn I had in the studio before this blizzard hit, so I'm a little late in posting since we were outside trying to shovel 30 inches of snow, plus try to spend some time with kids in the snow. Hopefully his parents won't be too upset with me once they see these! I mean, look at this cutie pie! I think he has the most perfect little button nose ever, and he even smiled for the camera during family shots! *swoon!!* Oh sweet, sweet Emily, how adorable you are! Emily is one of my Watch Me Grow babies so this is the second time I had her in the studio and both times she has just been full of smiles and personality. She just turned 6 months old, but has been sitting independently for weeks and is already up on all fours rocking back and forth. She is one determined little lady and wants so badly to join in all the fun with her big siblings, Lillian and Owen. I'm sure by her 1 year session she will be running circles around me! Last weekend I got some more baby snuggles in with this little guy, baby Ryder. He was so tiny, such a great sleeper, and super adorable. I didn't want him to leave! Mom and Dad share my love of neutrals, so I was happy to use them throughout his session. But, we did make sure to put some blue in there! He really was a rock star for his first photo shoot, and narrowing down the choices of what pictures to include in his gallery has been nearly impossible. In 2016, one of my resolutions is to take more quality pictures of my own children, not just iPhone photos. The other is to get a fabulous wall display for those pictures, which I can update as the years go on. One advantage of being a professional photographer is that I can order from certain places that the general public can't, and this year I cannot wait to get the display I've always dreamed of! Normally my studio is off limits to my kids because I don't want them ruining anything, but yesterday evening as I was getting ready to clean up from sweet Emily's 6 month sitter session, Lila, my 16 month old, wandered into the studio. She decided to plop herself right down in the bucket I had out and I thought to myself, "Okay, here's my chance to sneak in a couple of quick pictures." Because she is such a peanut, I put her in the same outfit that I had had the 6 month old in and started snapping away. The result is something I am incredibly surprised, excited, and overjoyed with! I think little miss Lila let me take pictures for a good half an hour and gave me such great expressions that truly capture her personality. She is growing up SO fast, and these pictures helped me to freeze time and remember her like this forever! From the tiny toes, to the curly hair in the back, from the chipped tooth and innocent smile, to the hazel eyes with long gorgeous lashes, she will forever be my baby. Little Miss Avery has been my only girl in a winter streak of boys, and there's only more boys to come. With her peaches and cream skin, chubby cheeks, and strawberry blond hair, she is just the most perfect bundle of joy! It was a pleasure to be invited into the C family's home for her very first photo shoot and Avery was the perfect sleepy lady! Oh my goodness, isn't little Eden just simply adorable?! She came to the studio in Kennett Square last weekend to celebrate her first birthday with a cake smash. Mom did Baby-Led-Weaning with her, something I followed with my own daughter, so Eden knew what to do with that cake right away! Mmmmm, icing! She may have been super serious about her eating, but other than that, she was all full of smiles and personality! Last Monday I got more baby snuggles in, my favorite!!! Baby Daniel was born on December 14th and in these pictures he is 7 days new. Just look at that smile, those chubby cheeks, and his ten tiny toes! He was such a beautiful, alert baby and did a great job for his first photo shoot! Last weekend I traveled to Collegeville for this little lady's first birthday party. Mom had picked out 2 adorable outfits for her to wear and had a beautiful dessert table on display. The decorations and cake even coordinated with Marin's outfits. While I was there, I was able to photograph Marin with her relatives and was a first hand witness to the love that surrounds her and the entire family. It made me wish I had hired someone else to take pictures at my own kids' parties! The rate at which my business grew this year is beyond my comprehension. When I started in July/August I assumed I would get maybe 1 or 2 clients a month, doing this more as a hobby. I don't think there is any way I could have imagined having 30 full-session clients and 18 mini-session clients in a matter of 5 months. My January 2016 also has 4 newborns and a sitter milestone session booked. I also have clients already booked in April, APRIL! These last two months have been extremely hard for my family with me going from a full-time mom to a busy business-owner, 2 unexpected deaths of close relatives (my grandfather and aunt), and illness after illness for my kids, BUT, I still seriously feel extremely blessed and fortunate! I LOVE what I do and I LOVE all my wonderful clients who are supporting me in this journey. Something else I LOVE is when I finally get a chance to take pictures of my own children. This is my daughter, 15 months old, and her first time at the indoor children's water area at Longwood Gardens. We were there for breakfast with Santa (which did not go well - she only screamed and did not want to go near him, much to our disappointment, oh well...), so thankfully I had my camera with me when we decided to quickly stop over at the Conservatory. The excitement and pure joy on her face made all the stress of the last couple of months just disappear. And, once I finally got these images on my computer, I was able to relive that moment all over again. This is what photographs do - they freeze a moment in time, a moment you can look back on year after year, and they make you smile. I wish I could say we will all live forever, but we won't, so make as many memories as you can today. Take pictures, have your picture taken, capture those memories, and get those pictures printed - BIG and ON YOUR WALL! Life can change in a blink of an eye, book your session today and let your memories live on in beautiful photographs! Thank you to all my past, present, and future clients. I LOVE you all and I LOVE your support! Last weekend I had the pleasure of having this handsome boy in my studio for his newborn session. He was a very special, and surprise, Thanksgiving present to his parents. Welcome to the world adorable Freddie! Last week I went back to Lancaster, PA to photograph a former co-workers new baby boy, Connor. Born more than a week early at only 6lbs 1oz, he was teeny tiny and reminded me of my own peanuts when they were born. But, he was a much better sleeper! In fact I think he was my sleepiest, most easy going baby so far. He only woke up when we went upstairs to his nursery for parent shots. Mom and Dad sure are blessed with this little bundle of joy! Come on now, just look at that adorableness!! I wish I could share more of the fantastic holiday set-ups we did, but Mom is saving them as a surprise for their holiday cards. ;-) For those of you on their list, get ready for the cuteness overload! Last weekend I had this little sweetheart in my studio. Lily is 4 months old and such a girly-girl already. Mom brought a bunch of adorable outfits for her and I made sure we used them all, including her mermaid outfit! 4 months can sometimes be a tough age because babies can't sit by themselves yet and have found their hands, which are always in their mouth. That's why I overshoot at these sessions to ensure that we get plenty of great shots for the gallery. Check out Lily's adorableness below! |
