about me
My name is Erika Nowlin and I am a child and family photographer in Austin, Texas. I am a member of Professional Photographers of America and the Texas Photographic Society.
I love, love, love to work with children and have done so in some way for most of my life - from babysitting, to working in childcare centers, to teaching 1st grade. I have been lucky enough to be able to stay home with my children since just after my first daughter was born. Being a mom is the greatest (and hardest!) thing I have ever done.
Photography has long been a hobby of mine and while gazing at my newborn daughter one day, I suddenly remembered my old manual film camera that I hadn't picked up in years. The photos that resulted from that first session (and became my husband’s first Father’s Day gift) stunned me and a little seed of an idea was planted. I continued to take portraits of my daughter at each milestone (you’ll see several of these throughout this site). I also began photographing my friends’ children – for Christmas cards, christening announcements, or just for fun, and I loved the joy I gave my friends by capturing those perfectly ordinary moments that showed just who their child is.
Since the birth of my second daughter, I am realizing how quickly my girls’ childhoods are flying by. I photograph them all the time, for special occasions and for no occasion at all. I truly enjoy capturing these small moments of childhood with my camera, and I want to create these special memories for other families. In order to do this, and with the help of my very supportive family, I have created Little Blooms Photography.
My goal is to give you beautiful, natural portraits of your child; pictures that really capture the spirit and amazement of childhood and that allow your child’s personality and uniqueness to shine through.
Ordinary moments make truly extraordinary memories.
